WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Julie Fletcher is a proffessional landscape and nature photographer with over 10 years experience in the field. This workshop will leave you wanting more and includes lots of walking, photography, classroom help a critique session and some post production insight. It will allow you to understand the committment and parameters it takes to become your best.
WHAT TO EXPECT DEVELOP YOUR CRAFT
Providing photographic enthusiasts easy access into unique locations, assisting them to develop new skills and nuture their creative eye. Providing clients opportunities to capture their very best images.
During this workshop, the opportunities are endless. Come and join me for this special Landscape workshop. I will be on hand to help you become a better and more intuitive photographer helping with composition, lens choice and settings.
There will also be a group critique session on some of the shots taken from everyone when time permits to view and access images in a group. There will be time for discussions and critique on composition, and your post production skills. Bring a portfolio along with you if you wish. I will also give a demo on my post production to give you an insight into my workflow and how I finess my work. Our main time is spent out in the field taking photos.
We will visit the various locations at key times of the day ensuring you have every opportunity to take advantage of the best light and natural features of the area. I will be there to help and guide you.
Landscapes, Waterfalls, Rainforest, Mountains
Drink in the vistas from your Moutain view rooms there are shots to captured everywhere and in close proximity to your accommodation. For the more adventurous, we will be visiting most of the major local attractions as well as a couple of my own personal favourite spots. Many of these locations offer some great opportunities to photograph a vast array of different landscapes, natural features, colours, stunning fungus, large trees, ferns and moss and of course lets not forget all the waterfalls including Elabana Falls and Moran Falls.
You will require a reasonable fitness level for this workshop as it is landscape based. The itinerary suits fit people and to really experience the diversity and the waterfalls. The tracks themselves are good with switchbacks but can be steeper in places, can have uneven terrain, we will be crossing shallow waterways and traversing a few rocks to get into locations. You may be in shallow water for some shots and it can be very slippery depending on the weather. Where possible I would expect clients to be able to walk for several hours with stops along the way for photography and the occasional rest.
You also have the option to concentrate on birds in and around our accomodation on the shorter rainforest walk but if you choose this option you will be left to your own devices when others venture out on our bigger walks and you will miss out on alot of tuition and seeing some great locations. You may also choose to start a bigger walk and when you feel you have had enough or getting too tired you can head back to O'Reillys to rest or do some bird photography near the accomodation. I will do my best to try and accomodate everyone but you also need to play your parts and make an effort to get the best out of this trip. Please keep this in mind.
If you have any concerns please contact me (Julie) via email before booking to discuss further.
