Another incredible Red Centre Photography Workshop has wrapped up, and what a week it was. From the rich reds to vibrant greens and ancient landscapes to spectacular trees and gorges, dramatic sunsets, and clear star-filled skies, the Red Centre once again delivered unforgettable photographic opportunities.
One of the highlights for me is always seeing participants grow in confidence throughout the tour. Whether they were learning new camera techniques, refining their composition skills, or stepping outside their comfort zone, everyone came away with not only a collection of beautiful images but also a deeper understanding of their photography.
Of course, workshops are about much more than photography. They’re about sharing experiences, enjoying great company, plenty of laughs, and creating memories in some of Australia’s most remarkable landscapes. Watching friendships form and seeing the excitement after capturing a special image never gets old.
If the Red Centre is on your photography bucket list, now is the perfect time to start planning for next year’s workshop. Places are always limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one guidance and a relaxed learning environment.
And the learning doesn’t have to stop when the workshop ends. Many participants choose to continue their photographic journey through my personalised one-on-one online training sessions after returning home. This is where the real value of a workshop can continue to grow. Using the images you captured during the trip, we can revisit techniques, refine your editing skills in Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw, and work through any questions that arise once you’ve had time to review your photographs. These sessions help reinforce what you’ve learned in the field while providing tailored guidance specific to your own photography goals. It’s a fantastic way to maximise the investment you’ve made in your workshop experience and ensure you continue to develop your skills long after the adventure is over.
I can’t wait to return to the Red Centre next year and share another amazing photographic adventure with a new group of passionate photographers.

Over the past couple of months I embarked on an unforgettable photographic journey through the rugged Channel Country in Outback Queensland, one of Australia’s most unique and dynamic landscapes. Channel Country, Outback Queensland – Colours, Patterns and Perspective The Channel Country in outback Queensland is one of Australia’s most quietly powerful photographic landscapes. Shaped by extreme cycles of drought and flood, it’s a place where subtlety matters — where colour, pattern and light do the heavy lifting rather than obvious landmarks. For landscape photographers, […]
Another year for me judging the Wilderness Photographer of the Year — and wow, the standard was incredible, especially in the Nature category. I spent a long time deliberating over the final 15 images across the three categories, and the talent this year made it no easy task. This competition is a fantastic one to […]
