Flinders Ranges Tour May 2018

Dated: 19 May 2018

Another trip finished for 2018, we had a great time out. All guys on this trip so the banter was rampant. I decided to change the accomodation on this trip and split it between a station stay and Wilpena Pound Resort which worked quite well. The weather was perfect but very cold. I challenged the guys to push the boundaries in challenging light in certain areas within the Flinders. The gorges are tough to shoot at the best of times and need to be approached with thought to get the best out of them. I explained my approach to this and challenged them to have a go at it too. They all got some fantastic shots. Job done!!

thanks for a great trip guys hope to see you next year in the Red Centre.

Channel Country outback QLD

Channel Country, Outback Queensland – Colours, Patterns and Perspective The Channel Country in outback Queensland is one of Australia’s most quietly powerful photographic landscapes. Wilderness Photographer of the year Judge 2025

Another year for me judging the Wilderness Photographer of the Year — and wow, the standard was incredible, especially in the Nature category.
