Where does one start - well my one wish was to learn how to use my camera on manual mode ! My impression of Julie prior to the tour to a week after finishing has been nothing but professional – at the same time I was very much a beginner and at no time did I ever feel as though I was less knowledgeable than anyone else. Julie was always happy to help with either information, settings, help with composition, lighting and always praising me – which made my 4 days a remarkable experience. For anyone reading this – Yes I am still using my camera on manual mode!!!!! ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, and Histogram have become well known words in my vocabulary. Not forgetting the following words : composition, hard and soft light, shadows, focus, bracketing, white balance, tripod, light meter, depth of field, and also finally LIGHTROOM !!!!! Does brain drain come into this !!!!! Early morning starts – fully packed days – lots of laughs, great company, information, assistance, amazing photos, and great meals – all in all a total success – if you have ever wished to improve your photography I would firmly recommend doing a Julie Fletcher Photography Tour. Until we meet again – hopefully sooner than later

If you want to be inspired, educated and invigorated by a professional photographer Julie Fletcher is the women you need to know. The betterment of our photography is her first priority and her excellent people skills enables her to recognise our strengths and weaknesses. We have just returned from our second value for money workshop in Marree fired up and totally enthused. I made great new likeminded friends and of course enjoyed the epitome of outback hospitality with Lyall’s huge personality, generous nature and amazing catering skills. Love the new face book group and really really love that you have written the process for processing the image above it for us to review as it will help no end and save my sanity when I get to have a play. I can't stop thinking about the gear you have selflessly shared with us. I just need to have a crack now. Thanks again

The workshop with Julie was jam packed with tips and support. Beginning with a familiarisation with camera settings to get the best results, Julie set the scene for the practical shoots that were to come. The afternoon and morning light was used to capture local subjects which then became the focus of Julie’s instructional post production sessions where she stepped us through a range of techniques using both Photoshop and Lightroom. Julie was well prepared with notes and session plans which helped get the most of the time we had available. I learned heaps from the workshop thanks to Julie’s ability to convey her knowledge and to challenge us to try something new both in the field and in post production. I really had a ball, thanks so much for your time and please say thanks also to Lyall and the staff at the Roadhouse, hanging out with them and hearing their stories was an added bonus.

If you want to get the best out of your photography, learn to see and compose the best images, and want to share in the excitement of capturing the stellar performance of a dark night sky, then this is the tour for you. Sign up for the next one before it's too late! Just to look at the posted images Julie has taken around the Red Centre will tell you what to expect, but in reality your expectations will be exceeded. You may have to work hard for your images, but believe me, it is worth putting as much effort in as you can. The days are full, but there were plenty of laughs and good times along the way. The added excitement of a sunrise helicopter flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta was a great way to cap off a brilliant trip. Julie is a focused and dedicated photographer willing to share her passion with those willing to listen. You will receive the greatest benefit from her knowledge of photography and from her knowledge of the area. Her tour was beyond awesome. I have come home after 7 days excited about the images I took and know these images deserve something better than remaining on my hard drive. I also come home knowing I have made new friends. Finally, I am looking forward to taking part in another photography journey with Julie in the future.
